For Week 7, I ask you to think further about the content and organization of your project site:
1. Please read Chapter 57 of Web-Based Instruction (417-423) as a source of possible stragegies for incorporating web materials into instruction. A discussion forum focusing on this chapter will be set up on March 20th. Question for discussion: Which of the types of uses listed seems most relevant to your target audience? Why?
2. Begin to identify some of the smaller chunks of information or features that you will be including in your site. These smaller units of information might be more easily managed if you place each one on an index card.
3. Sort and group these units of information into categories that may form the major sections of your site.
4. Examine the different organizational strategies listed in the Site Design section (specifically Site Structure) of the Yale Web Style Manual. Identify the strategy you feel most comfortable with or feel is most appropriate for your content.
5. Re-examine the Site Covers portion of the Site Design Section. Create a paper-based rough draft of what your site cover might look like and how you would link to the major sections of your content.
